This paper covers the holistic approach to equality and diversity work at the University of Sunderland for staff and students in terms of the themes of Age; Disability; Gender; Race Equality; Religion and Belief; and Sexual Orientation. It will look at work carried out within the Human Resources Department, including Dignity at Work; Equal Pay; Policy work and Training. It will also cover the wider activities across the University; the links with the local community; and the web site and outward-facing approach. Particular reference will be made to schemes that provide examples of activities involving international students in the community
