Some useful information regarding the conference and getting around in Beijing


CONFERENCE VENUE AND ONSITE ACCOMMODATION

If you plan to take a taxi to the conference venue it is advised you download a copy of the area map and taxi driver instructions found at http://d05.cgpublisher.com/location.html to show your driver if required. A good reference point for drivers is the well-known tourists destination the Summer Palace as it is in the same district as the conference venue.

Registration and the Conference Secretariat will be located in the lobby of Building 1.
Plenary sessions will be held on level 3, Building 1.
Parallel session will be held across Buildings 1, 2 & 3 – details will be provided onsite.


Check in Point: Delegates can check in at Reception in Building 1. The reception desk will be available 24 hours a day. There is also security office open 24 hours a day.


GETTING TO AND FROM THE CONFERENCE VENUE


* Airport Transfer - Shuttle Booking Service It is our recommendation that you pre-book your Airport-Hotel transfers through Travel Corp by emailing Cheryl McNamara cheryl@travelcorp.com.au directly with details of your request, or phone +61 [0]2 9563 2999, fax +61 [0]2 9563 2900. Bookings will only be taken until 20th of June 2005.


* Taxis’s Beijing Airport is approximately 40-45 minutes from the conference venue and a taxi will cost around RMB70-RMB80 (US$10.00 to US$15.00). If you plan to take a taxi to the conference venue it is advised you download a copy of the area map and taxi driver instructions found at http://d05.cgpublisher.com/location.html to show your driver if required.

* Visitor Parking The parking area at the conference venue will be available to delegates.

An updated version of the draft conference program is now available online. There have been some session time changes to accommodate various delegate needs. Please check your presentation and note the possible revised time and room number accordingly. Apologies if this causes any inconvenience.

PRESENTATION EQUIPMENT

Please ensure that if you are conducting a computer based presentation to bring your own lap top computer. The conference secretariat will provide data projectors and overhead projectors only. As a back up we suggest you bring the core of your presentation on overhead transparencies as well.


CONFERENCE DINNER – FRIDAY 1st JULY,

The conference dinner is to be held at the Summer Palace on the evening of the second day of the conference. Transport from the venue to the conference dinner will depart at approximately 5.30pm. If you have already booked, your dinner ticket will be available for collection at the registration desk. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the conference and you are welcome to book for accompanying friends and family members.
